In October 2008, Governor Mike Beebe and leaders from all 75 of Arkansas’s counties convened in Little Rock in an unprecedented effort to build a brighter economic future for all Arkansans.

The 2008 summit aimed to foster the important relationship between education and economic development and to underscore the role that relationship can play in cultivating a stronger economy in every part of the State.

This Web site serves as a repository of information shared at the October 2008 summit, resources for community leaders to utilize in completing and updating their community assessments, and information for all Arkansans who wish to track their state and community’s progress toward the goals discussed at last year’s summit.

Most importantly, the site includes tools useful for any Arkansan wishing to become more engaged in this ongoing initiative so that they, too, can take part in the important process of engineering our State’s future economy.
